A Comparative Study of the Evaluation Function of War Metaphors in the Perspective of Critical Metaphors

This paper analyzed the differences of China’s political stance and attitude in response to recent China-US trade war epidemic war, provoked by United States, through comparing distribution metaphors as attitudinal resources regular speeches relevant these two events on official website Ministry Foreign Affairs within framework conceptual metaphor evaluation theory. Through analysis metaphorical interpretation explanation, study found that diplomatic discourse confrontational willingness is stronger signal willing ease relationship significantly weakened, further more, proportion judgement resources, especially negative social constraint highest, which indicates opposing this event more resolute. It hoped results will help explore application potential evaluative function strategy facilitating enhancement power.
